Llama Llama Holiday Drama

We love our Llama Llama books around here.  (Llama Llama Red Pajama would be my favorite.)   And this time of year brings out little Llama and all his Holiday Drama.  Yes a little Llama learns the real meaning of the holiday, despite all the drama and activities that surround it.

Last night I crashed in bed going over my list, sheep costume ears sewn, first grade craft station project, elementary winter fest, parent's night at dance, props and set painted for musical, PTO meeting, supply list, two dozen cupcakes here, Daisy treat bags there, book exchange, cookie mom meeting, Christmas cards, check....check, check, CHECK AND CHECK!  AHHHH!

[sigh]

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because He will save his people from their sins."  Matthew 1:21
And there, just when you need it, we can find HOPE in the perfect place....at the perfect time.

Catching up.

The Friday after Thanksgiving, Adam took all his girls to downtown Indy for the lighting of the Christmas Tree on Monument circle. Despite the cold, it was a fun time and the girl's excitement was all worth it to kick off the Christmas season.

I believe in....being a kid.

A few nights ago, Emma wanted me to say the good night prayer as she was getting tucked in.
During the pray, I prayed for our neighbor Julie that is quickly losing her battle with cancer, asking for comfort as she is waiting to go to Heaven where she won't hurt anymore.

After the prayer Emma started asking some questions...
E - Mom, I thought Julie was moving in with her sister, not moving to Heaven.
J - well, she is.  She is spending time with her sister then going to Heaven.
E - how does she know she is going to Heaven?
J - Well, because she loves Jesus, believes in Jesus, and ask Him into her heart.  She was baptized like Micah showing her promise to love and believe in Jesus.  And she led an awesome Christian life.
E - Mom, what's a Christian?
J - Someone that believes in Jesus.  Are you a Christian?
E - Oh yes.
J - me too.
E - and you know who else I believe in?
J - who?
E - SANTA!!!!!!

Kids.  I love the passion and honesty that kids can reveal.
I love our neighbor Julie.  So glad she has entered our lives.
And I love Jesus.  Pretty sure he has a terrific sense of humor.
