Theater + Chocolate = One awesome evening.

Even though Emma's birthday was over a month ago, she has been long awaiting her birthday present from her to the theater. The day finally arrived a couple Saturdays ago when Beauty and the Beast came to town.

Emma loves the theater, loves dates with Dad (and this time Mom too!), and loves getting dressed up. She was crazy excited to see one of her favorite Disney Princesses "alive". After much anticipation, prepping and pampering, our princess was ready to redeem that birthday present.

While the three of us were at the Theater, Aunt Amanda came up to play with Hope and chase her around. We thought that was deserving enough for a trip to the Melting Pot for some mouth watering dessert. So after an outstanding performance at the theater, we fancied ourselves back home to swoop up Hope and her Aunt. (And change into some more comfortable clothing!)
Emma so excited for her first night out of Fondue...she practically poked her aunt's eyes out with her "little poker things". Did we mention that Aunt Amanda's birthday is just around the corner? Yep, sure is - so lets celebrate both girls!

So have to admit, every once in awhile 'ol Daddy-o can come up with a few good ones for his girls...the theater, the chocolate, and even let Emma pick out his purple tie to wear. What a sweet daddy.
Tonight however, game seven of the World Series. Guess a guy has gotta have a little boyish fun every once in awhile.

"To anyone listening up there...
My sweet Hope's noggin, full of wispy blond curls, just fits under my neck. Perfectly. Her torso and legs are the exact length to where her knees bend at my waist when we rock in the rocking chair. Her always moving feet snugly on my lap. Her cute little hands tuck in between our bellies. It is very cozy. Can she stay this cuddly size forever? Please, pretty pretty please?"

Best morning wake up call ever.

For Ma.

October 16th, Indianapolis hosted their annual Walk to stop Alzheimer's. Our beautiful Ma (Great Ma to Emma) is currently a victim of the unfortunate disease. Since last Christmas, the quick decline of her health has effected the whole family. In her honor, team Lillpop was formed and participated in a three mile walk to help raise funds and awareness to help find a cure, or better yet a prevention, for this disease. Each walker was given a flower - yellow symbolized the loved one you know still their own beautiful world.

We love you Great Ma!

Some pre-walk fun...
Every party has a pooper....and here is ours, literally. ;)
Face paint for the kiddos...

Let the walk begin! On a side note...just a few disturbing things going on in this next picture. If the obvious isn't apparent to you, you probably should see a doctor.
The celebratory finish! We did it!Post-walk victory dances!
...he always has been our little monkey, and still is!
This week Ma turned 83. What a fantastic life...four kids, nine grandkids, 10 great grandkids, and one extraordinary husband - we love you too Pa.
Ma and Pa have been married an impressive 63 years, and still counting. When I entered the Phipps family and met Adam's grandparents, it was more than evident the ridiculous love they share for each other. Pa would say, "oh Martha" then Ma would show her contagious smile and reply, "well, James..." And of course James always gave her that head shake back, yet accompanied with a smile.

With Alzheimer's, one's memory become null. However, I would like to believe that the grandest of memories aren't erased from the soul. Don't you think all the beautiful things Ma isn't able to recall today - from weddings, graduations, holidays, and grandkids birthdays - still reside deep in her soul? I sure do. And there will be a day when souls will rejoice. Oh ya, you betcha.

A fantastic life....more than is beautiful. Happy birthday Ma, happy- happy- birthday.

Fall Beauties.

Fall - Love the sound of leaves being jumped in (followed by giggles), the smell of burning leaves outside and warm cinnamon inside, the colors of it all from pumpkins to mums, and the taste of yummy comfort food. Adding in these darling girls makes everything even more lovable.
Absolute favorite time of year.
