Tonight the pregnant lady in the house requested (or demanded as someone might say) a greasy hamburger, Dr. Pepper, and onion rings for supper. Perhaps not the healthiest, but it was my last "treat" before I tip those scales just one last pound!
Anyhow, on the way home, our little miss Emma was a nonstop talking spitfire. There was a comment for everything. EVERYTHING. Even the conversations Adam and I were having that she didn't know anything about. I quietly whispered to Adam and said, "someone put something in her mouth!" And once again from the back seat comes that sassy four year old voice, "uh, well ya know, putting something in my mouth won't work ya know because I'll just keep talking." This was quickly followed by yet another comment, "and oh ya, I can hear what you say because I have a good sense of hearing, ya know."
Seriously, Emma....you absolutely keep me and your dad in stitches. Like the day you ask me to open my mouth and begin talking to the baby. Or the night your dad and I were talking about getting to know some of the teenager girls in the neighborhood to find a good babysitter and your reply, "oh so you mean we can go out and leave the baby at home?" I just love your thinking.
Thank you so much for coming into my world and making it such an amazing place. Someday you will read this and realize how much your innocent, yet true, comments have been engraved into my heart. Thank you for being the best blond bombshell in the world. Thank you for laughing. Thank you for being my helper. Thank you for being you. The past four years you have been an "only child". Soon, very soon, you will leave that role and become a big sister. I know with all my heart you will be the most amazing big sister in the universe. Hope is going to be so lucky to have you in her life.
I love you more than you will ever know. And I really mean that. You are truly amazing....and beautiful, beautiful.
Hugs. Kisses. Thanks to our Creator.
